IBPS Clerk Exam 2017 : Apply Online From September 12

IBPS Clerk is the common banking exam held all over India for recruitment in various banks. Almost all public banks fill their vacancies through this exam. Clerk exam held on two levels:

  • IBPS Clerk Prelims
  • IBPS Clerk Mains.

IBPS has released its notification for the year 2017. It says a total of 7883 vacancies to be filled through this exam.

Education Qualification For IBPS Clerk Post

Graduation from any stream or equivalent qualification. Candidate should have knowledge of basic functions of Computer.

Age Limit and Application Fee For IBPS Clerk 2017

Age of the candidate should be 20-28 years as on 01-09-2017. However, relaxation in age limit for certain categories is there. It include

  • SC/ST: Age relaxation by 5 years
  • OBC:   Age relaxation 3 years
  • PWD: Age relaxation by 10 years
  • 1984 Riots victims: Age relaxation by 5 years
  • Jammu and Kashmir Citizens: Age relaxation by 5 years
  • Widow: Age relaxation by 9 years

Application Fees:

  • For General category: Rs. 600
  • ST/SC/PWD/Ex-Servicemen: Rs. 100

Fees Payment Modes: Net Banking, debit card, payment wallets, bank challan for offline payment.

Exam Pattern:

IBPS Exam for clerk occurs in two steps: Prelims and Mains. Candidates have to clear prelims exam to qualify for mains. There is no interview after mains as in IBPS PO exam.

Moreover, Prelims exam test your reasoning, quantitative and English skills. It consists of 100 marks and there are minimum passing marks for each section. you have to clear all three sections if you want to qualify.

For Mains, this year pattern of the exam is completely changed. Reasoning and computer aptitude are joined together. The exam now consists of 190 questions which are to be attempted in 2 hours and 40 minutes.

IBPS Syllabus 2017:

The major section involves reasoning, quantitative analysis, and General English. These sections are same for both Prelims and Mains exam. Mains also include General knowledge about banking and computer aptitude.
